Sales of Scholl Fungal Nail Treatment (SC10048989) have increased in recent weeks, partly due to the product sponsoring ITV2 Daytime!
With so much media focus, we thought that it would make a good subject for the latest edition of Consultancy Room.
So what is fungal nail? This common infection is an invasion of fungal species underneath the toe nail, affecting 9% of the UK’s population. The fungal infection can be passed on by direct contact and is usually carried through carpets, socks, shoes and hosiery.
What symptoms should you look out for?
- Yellow or brownish discolouration of the nail
- White ‘islands’ on the surface of the nail
- The appearance of the nail is rougher, more brittle and with ridges
Why is Scholl Fungal Nail a suitable treatment? Scholl Fungal Nail treatment is suitable for treating mild fungal nail conditions. It helps to prevent spread of infection and recurrence, by killing 99.9% of all nail fungus.
How does it work? Scholl Fungal Nail Treatment is a course of treatment over a sustained period of 9-12 months. The initial treatment is to lightly file the infected nail surface, before applying the advanced fungal nail liquid. This action then needs to be repeated over a four week period to kill the fungus.
The second phase is about preventing the fungus from spreading and recurring. This is done by applying the advanced liquid to the infected nail once a week for a 9 month period or until the discolouration has grown out.
By the end of the treatment the infection should have cleared up and the level of discolouration of the nail dramatically reduced.
